The session will begin with a review of the intake forms and the professional disclosure statement. Discussion around the counseling goals and exploring the needs of all client’s present. The next sessions focus on the goals and subsequent sessions build upon the work done in and between sessions. Homework is assigned. Homework is used as a gauge to help keep the process moving forward. Counseling is a collaborative effort. It is conversational in nature.
Counseling sessions generally last 50 minutes. 90 minutes sessions are offered to couples and Individuals as needed. Family sessions are 90 minutes. Therapy is typically scheduled weekly or bi-monthly depending on the needs and financial concerns of the client. Some couples choose to do monthly or three-month check-in sessions after treatment is completed.
How long the counseling process takes depends on achievement of the therapeutic goals or when the client is no longer receiving benefit or believes they no longer need counseling.
Cash, Check, Credit Card, Apple Pay and Health Savings Card.
Clients wishing to use their insurance will be provided a Statement of Service so they may bill their insurance company directly. Please note the reimbursable amount is set by the insurance company.
No, the idea that only “crazy or damaged” people see counselors is an outdated notion. Most people in therapy are ordinary people coping with everyday problems, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, marital concerns, relationship issues, life transitions, and self-image/self-esteem issues.
The best way to get the most out of therapy is by coming regularly and actively engaging in the process. Thinking about things between sessions and being open to discuss anything and everything with their therapist. It is the work done between sessions that promotes the most growth. I am excited to be part of the journey.
